Today, individuals spend their leisure in various types of activities. On the other hand, nomophobic individuals continue to increase in parallel with technological developments. Accordingly, the aim of the present study is to examine the relationship between activity type and nomophobia in individuals participating in leisure activities. The research group consisted of individuals who participated in various leisure activities and voluntarily agreed to be included in the study (n=382). Data were collected through Personal Information Form, Nomophobia Scale (NPS) and Leisure Activity Participation Scale (LAPS). The fit of the measurement instruments with the data was examined with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The use of the model-validated scales in the analyses was decided according to the normality assumption. Non-parametric tests were used to analyze the data that did not show normal distribution according to skewness and kurtosis distribution. According to the findings, the mean age of the individuals, 53.4% of whom were male, was 25.95±9.83 (18-59). Individuals frequently preferred relaxing activities, while productive activities were less preferred. Nomophobia of the individuals was found to be moderate (72,83±27,29). No difference was found between leisure activity type and nomophobia according to marital status. However, a difference/correlation was found in terms of gender, age, education, income or leisure time duration variables. The study concluded that some types of activities trigger nomophobia, while others reduce nomophobia. It is recommended that individuals utilize their leisure with productive activities.
